As I prep for my pre-tailgate walk through (doesn't everybody do a run-through unfolding their table, etc 24 hrs before the TailCat?!) I couldn't help but reflect on some Week 1 "Lights" - Highs N Lows:
Jim "Hoppy" Hopkins broke out his new grill and prepped mounds of sliders. Well done, Hop! But seeing him standing in front of his new ManToy with a lit match and a bottle of propane in his hand apparently inspired wife Anne to leave and pray for his safety.
Tim Sarac gets props for being able to set up his new canopy - still had the tags on it - in a windstorm first time out.
TailCat veteran Bill "Wolfgang" O'Malley brought his signature dish - BBQ'd shrimp. If you didn't get any you really missed something...
Tim Myers brought - well, you were there, you saw. 'Nuff said.
Kevin Thomas was screaming up everyone's draft boards as a lock for TailCatter for the Future. He even led a spirited discussion of "charcoal vs propane" at the JV game Saturday morning. Then he showed up late and empty-handed. Maybe he hitched a ride with - Axel Hoyer, who also wandered in late with his hands in his pockets.
Is there a Senior Tour for old TailCatters?!
Remember - all are invited! Bring tables, garbage bags, and your cooking skills. And this week we'll need suntan lotion.
And if you want to let the traffic clear out postgame and "decompress" after another 'Cat win, the TailCatters have a standing reservation at Antonio's after the game - walking distance from the stadium. Great family fare at reasonable prices.
GO CATS!!
